Jane Austen A Life Revealed

Since I had to finish and return my last book quickly, I had to pick another book for my last week.  I chose Jane Austen A Life Revealed by Catherine Reef.

This book was a quick read and mostly a review for me.  The style of her book with Austen's books described in a time line manner within the book.  So the author did a "woven narrative".

This book would be great for someone who has not done further reading about Jane Austen's life.

What I did enjoy where the sketches and pictures of actual letters written by Jane.  I did learn that back in the nineteenth century people used a cross-hatch method of letter writing to save on postage.  The book gives a visual as well as written description of this process.

The author included a bibliography of works.  I will see what I can find in our library from the list.
